Physicians Formula Product Review! Are these products worth it?

So the other day I had to stop by a local drug store to mail a letter off and I decided to check out the makeup department to see if there was anything that sparked my curiosity. I stumbled across the Physicians Formula display and I saw a few items that did. Physicians Formula has been releasing a lot of new items and their most recent collections are the Murumuru Butter and the Rosé All Day. Since I already purchased the infamous Murumuru Butter Bronzer I wanted to try out the Murumuru Butter Eyeshadow palette and a couple of the Rosé All Day lip colours.

Murumuru Butter Eyeshadow Palette in Tropical Days:

First impression was the colour story is beautiful with 12 shadows consisting of a mix of shimmers and mattes. Each quadrant can create it's own look but you can also mix and match the mattes with the shimmers or create an only matte or shimmer look. The key ingredients in this palette are moisturizing Tucuma, Cupuaçu, Murumuru butter blend and conditioning essential fatty acids which makes the feel of the shadows very smooth, soft, and has the iconic butter blend scent. When dipping my brush into any pan in the palette I did see there was quite a bit of fall out which in all honesty did bum me out. However, even though there was the fall out, it did not stop how well these shadows performed. The pigment in the shadows I've tested (which were the ones on the left quadrant plus the dark matte brown) were absolutely stunning; super easy to blend out and build-able. I loved the simplicity of the lighter colours but still able to make the eyes sparkle. Overall I think that this is a good everyday eyeshadow palette from the drugstore but if fall out is a factor in which may way your opinion it is something to consider.

Tip: Spritz some setting spray on a small flat eyeshadow brush to really make the shimmer shades pop on the eyes and longer lasting.

Murumuru Butter Bronzer:

I purchased this bronzer in the "bronzer" shade a couple months back to see what all the hype was about. The key ingredients are a blend of Murumuru butter, Cupuaçu butter, and Tucuma butter all from the Amazon. The product itself is very smooth to the touch and has the fragrance of butter (cause duh it's in the name 😜). The "Bronzer" shade is light but dark enough for my skin tone to still have that slight sun kissed bronze. Because I am so fair it's hard to find a shade that isn't too dark or will look orange on my face. This bronzer works quite well for me and I most likely will pick up another one in a different shade to test out. I can see why there is hype about this bronzer and joined the bandwagon for this good drugstore bronzer.

Organic Wear Fake Out Mascara:

I was on the hunt for a new mascara that was not waterproof and would be long wearing. In the past I have used the original Organic Wear mascara in the green packaging and enjoyed it, so I decided to try out another mascara from this brand. The Fake Out Mascara is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, paraben-free, dermatologist approved, clinically tested, safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, ophthalmologist approved and cruelty free. It has the key ingredients of an organic lash boosting complex (Love that!), natural silk cotton, and natural fibers. I love that this mascara has all those factors especially that its good for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers because I am both of those things. The wand and bottle is also recyclable which makes it easier to dispose off once finished. When opening the brand new tube, I did notice that there actually isn't any fragrance (sometimes you can still smell a certain scent even though brands claim 'fragrance free'). Upon application I found that the wand coated the lashes well and the pigment is a true black. Wearing the mascara all day I found that it was long wearing, didn't flake or smudge. Overall I give this mascara and A. Did it really make my lashes look like I was wearing falsies? No, but I did like my natural lashes looked.

Rosé Kiss All Day Velvet Lip Color "Pillow Talk" & "I Do":

As the weather is starting to feel more like summer (hooray for backyard BBQ's), I've been wanting to wear more lip products whether it being a tinted gloss, crayon, or lipstick. When I saw these lip colours I was definitely intrigued because these are the colours I typically go for and so it was just an obvious "Yes" to trying these out. I did decide to go for the velvet formula over the glossy formula as just an introduction to these crayons but also because my drugstore didn't have many of the glossy formulas left 😔 The key ingredients are Rosewater, Kakadu Plum, Goji Berry and a tightening blend. As the formula contains rosewater, it's supposed to help soothe, calm and hydrate the lips which is key for me because I do have dry lips most of the time (I know I know I need to drink more water....😩). When applying the crayon on my lips I did find the formula to be beautifully pigmented, easy to apply, didn't tug and felt comfortable to wear. However, as I said I do have dry lips so I still found the crayon to be a bit drying. I do recommend if you are like me to apply a nice thick lip balm before applying the crayon. Overall I do recommend these crayons as they are perfect for everyday wear, wear decently well (you will have to reapply after eating but lasts pretty well throughout the day), comfortable, and you can sharpen them.

Final thoughts on these products, are they worth the purchase? I would say yes! I think they are great valued for the drugstore and still feel good quality. The pigmentation is there and each product is formulated with good ingredients. For the brand as a whole I love what they stand for and the ingredients that they put into their products which make me feel confident in putting them on my face. I hope you decide to give these products a try and love them the way I do.
